The mouse is light and doesn't seem to have the durability or heft of other mice. Maybe adding it to the Mouse 4/5 or putting it below where the thumb would rest are some things to consider. Maybe Gigabyte could look for a balance or just move the DPI button altogether. On some of the Logitech mice, the DPI buttons are easy to reach but much harder to hit. For something billed as a "gaming mouse" - this technical snafu is completely unacceptable for any high end product.

This appears to be a firmware issue instead of a drivers or software one. Further testing indicated that this problem occurs in general and is not specific to any program.

The issue occurs in both Windows XP SP3 and Vista SP2. Other reviewers here have discussed this problem after testing the issue as well. At this point, the mouse becomes very sluggish.

For example, when I jump a corner to spin up my Heavy's weapon, everything is fine until I hit M1 to fire. In MW4: Mercenaries and Team Fortress 2 there seems to be a sensitivity change when I hold down both the right and left mouse buttons. This is very inconvenient while closing tabs in Internet browsers. Sometimes I have to press in an awkward way for the button to work. The price is good if you get your rebates back.Ĭons: Middle mouse button is semi-broken and doesn't always work despite regular cleaning and gentle use. I don't remember exactly how long I've been using it since I waited for the rebate card to arrive in the mail. With no excessive crevices or bumps, the mouse is very easy to clean and maintain.Īccurate enough for the most part during roughly three to six or more months of use. I'm so glad I can go forward/backwards on my Web browsers using the mouse.

Five mouse buttons plus DPI modification button. Pros: My last mouse was a plain 3 button Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse v2.0. I am a being a little biased since I previously used a g5 for over 6 years and I'm dropping 2 eggs because of the challenge of getting this to work perfectly which included adjusting settings constantly and finding the right surface, but for the price tag its defiantly worth the purchase. This needs to have some weight added, and a few refinements to the laser and this could be a great mouse, as of now it still has its flaws. Overall Review: No mouse wheel left and right movements ( nickpicking :D ) Not a very good mouse for precision since it tends to jerk a few inches in any direction fairly often even when at 800 DPI, although this may be an issue with the inadequate surfaces or laser precision or maybe i need to RMA this one?

Pros: Very lightweight and comfortable feel, adjustable DPI and affordable price with nice button layout.ĭefiantly a great mouse in the price range it stands.Ĭons: It is lightweight and it feels very cheap, it is very very very picky about the surface its on, I have a steelseries mousepad that has worked with every mouse I've ever owned ranging from a cheap dollar brand to g5, g9's and this mouse does not like the surface at all or any other I've tried for that matter. I would have given 2 eggs since the mouse can still be used for desktop applications (maybe not for CAD and such though) with minor inconvenience but Gigabyte is saying it's a gaming mouse. But I doubt anything can be done since it's a firmware problem. Overall Review: I wrote an email to Gigabyte and am still waiting for an answer. The next click, which doesn't go through to the launcher you can't see, will serve to bring back the mouse under the game's control.

If you use the side-button programmed with the "Magic Jump" feature within a game, the driver will pop the application launcher "under" the game display and change the game cursor to the desktop cursor. It's not a driver problem, it's a firmware problem.Īlso, the "Magic Jump" programmable button option (essentially a very basic application launcher) isn't game-friendly.

I tried with default Windows drivers and Gigabyte drivers, under Windows XP and Windows 7 圆4 with the same result. I first thought I was hitting the button by accident but after some testing, I found out that when you press and hold both mouse buttons for ~3 seconds, the DPI setting toggles by itself.
